Five and Fabulous!

It is birthday month around here.  Hot on the heels of Quinn's second birthday, Morgan celebrated his 5th birthday.  Five!  Who would have guessed that in those five years we would have completed so many puzzles,  read so many books and learned so many animals facts.  It has been a most incredible five years full of wonder and amazement on the part of anyone who comes into contact with our fantastic boy.
To make this milestone extra memorable, we had a great birthday party at the zoo with a few of Morgan's friends where we rode the zoo-mobile, viewed the new Great Barrier Reef exhibit, and played at Splash Island.  On the 20th, we surprised Morgan with a trip to Great Wolf Lodge, a family favourite.  We spent two full days drenched and smiling.  This is the life!

Entering the Terrific Twos

How can it be possible that Quinn has reached his second birthday.  It seems like I blinked and he arrived at this unbelievable place.   After all that we have been through with him, and how strong he has shown himself to be, we know that each day is a gift.  Celebrating his birthday last week just reminded us once again how lucky we are to have such a wonderful boy in our lives.
Happy Birthday, gorgeous boy!

Hey Mommy, watch 'dis

Life is never boring around here.  Morgan and Quinn are always doing something to get a laugh and this week was no exception.  Check out our boys in their great disguises!

Cottage Life

Our first visit to the cottage this season was a huge hit.  The cottage looked fantastic thanks to Erin and Paul's earlier visit and all we had to do was get the water going, take a couple of shutters down, re-install the upstairs toilet, sweep the dirt and cobwebs from the various rooms, repair the dock, discourage any beaver building in the boathouse by filling all possible nest areas with rocks, scrape the flaking paint from the side of the cottage in preparation for painting later this summer, and rake the beach.  Not bad for a weekend holiday!  The boys were in cottage heaven with all the pebbles that they were able to throw into the lake and the favourite pastime of running in and out of the water at the beach.  Morgan helped with anything and everything, hammering in nails and setting tables, and Quinn was thoroughly amazed with the "water...everywhere...everywhere!".  We have set the tone for a wonderful cottage summer and can't wait to get back up north next week to celebrate Quinn's 2nd birthday.
