Morgan is officially on summer holidays after graduating from "P1" last week, although Jim is still slugging it out at school in meetings for another couple of weeks. Quinn is thrilled to have Morgan around full-time and we are all set to take in lots of beaches, check out the Dockyards snorkel park and spend time playing on various playgrounds on the island. We have to fit it all in before July 9th when we take off for Canada and move to the other island in our life: Pointe-au-Baril. Here are a few pics from our first few days of vacation -- Jim and I getting set to run in the Fidelity Couples 5-Mile race, Quinn living it up (with blue lollipop all over his face), and Morgan and Quinn enjoying an afternoon of animals and cars in the backyard.

T-Ball Star
This Saturday we enjoyed our last game of T-ball for the season. After having weekly practices on Wednesdays along with the games every Saturday morning, it has been amazing to watch Morgan's skills develop. He has a great swing, a much better throw and has even made a catch or two with his glove. He came home this week with a team photo and a trophy (that Quinn has been coveting ever since) and is looking forward to soccer season beginning in the fall. Great job, little Astro!

Whirlwind Tour -- Toronto and St. Thomas
After only a couple of days in Port Hope, Quinn and I headed off to visit friends and family in Toronto and St. Thomas. Judith, Russell and Jacob were kind enough to put us up in the big city. Quinn had lots of toys to play with and we had great food and wonderful company. We packed in as much action as we could making a surprise stop at ICS where we were treated like celebrities, a visit with Mary-Kate, Dan and Bodhi at High Park, lunch with Rosa in Roncesvailles and a play in Trinity-Bellwoods park with Tita Jessie, Arabelle and their family. We were exhausted at the end of the day, but thrilled to have had such nice visits with people that are so important to us. Sunday we were off to St. Thomas for a lovely two days with Nanny McQuiggan -- more great food, more great company, and even a rollicking game of cards that lasted well into the evening. Finally, we were back on the 401 headed back to Port Hope where Quinn would settle in for the rest of our trip while I took a couple of "adult" days back in Toronto. Rosa and I caught up over sushi and pedicures and I watched my grade six students in a very memorable graduation ceremony at ICS. It was an amazing visit to Canada and we are looking forward to more family and more fun when we return with Morgan and Jim in July.

Whirlwind Tour - Port Hope
Though it was quite and ordeal getting us here, Quinn and I finally made it to Ontario this week. This trip will mark the longest time our little family has ever been apart from each other -- 10 days! Jim and Morgan are holding down the fort in Bermuda keeping Somersfield in line, hosting dinner parties and taking special trips to feed sharks at Devil's hold aquarium and see the movie "Up" in 3-D.
Meanwhile, Quinn and I made our first stop in Port Hope to settle in with Uncle G., Nanna and Grampy. Quinn has been showered with love (and chocolate) and has toys galore to play with. Second to jumping on his grandparents, his favourite activity has been riding the new little trike that was waiting for him in the garage. Stay tuned for the next posting -- the Toronto leg of our visit.
